Chickens, Hannukah, and Pagan Fiddle Gurus

Well, we lost Joë to a cat a while back, and got another hen named Zoë, who lays cute little eggs up in our decrepit treehouse.  Meanwhile, Chloë is a brat and bullies Zoë.  She likes to run up and peck people's feet.  Our little parakeet is a much nicer pet than the stinky chickens.

Our family had a Hannukah Party (we are here in the last hours of Hannukah), which was ok.  I guess Purim is next.  I'm finally done with my associate's degree  and am worrying about figuring out my schedule for the spring.  I have to work it around dance.  And also there is orchestra and fiddling.  Our fiddle leader is such a pain, I don't know why I like him.  He always is making remarks about Christianity out of the blue to annoy me, like: 'when you stop believing everything in the Bible is true, anything is possible'  and the maddening thing is, I spend the rest of the session brooding about it, only to think of the perfect comeback when its too late to say it.  He asks my sister and I if we want to know our horoscope, and one day he was telling me something about "his" spirit guides (I pretended I didn't hear him and laughed at something someone else was saying, hah). Prays for him   If anyone else wants to pray for him, his name backwards is Nale.

My brothers and sisters are now the proud parents of two adorable chicks (we don't know if any of the last three eggs are going to hatch yet).  They have a lot of personality, especially the oldest one, which is yellow with a brown and white patterned back named Chloë.  The other is all brown, and named Joey.  And if we get a third it will be Zoë.  Tookie the parakeet watches them, and he is very jealous of all the attention they get, so he does his best to look cute constantly.

dead russian composer test: its becoming more and more popular

I took the Dead Russian Composer test and got Chaikovsky.  The little test tried to to repeat that unfounded accusation Chaikovsky has been plagued with over the years, but I refuse to post such garbage on my xanga.  so there.  I was curious to find out who the vodka maniac was, so I retook the test clicking vodka after each answer, and got Modest Mussorgsky, who is called a "Romantic period psycho who's drunk more often than not" and died of it.  He wrote Night on Bald Mountain, a piece I really like.  My favorite composer is Sergei Rakhmaninov, and I can't be him because he is a chemist, and i aint.

last post for the (gregorian) year

Well, better post now, because I'll be super busy in another week.  I went busking with my little sister at the farmer's food market yesterday, until we got kicked out.  For those who do not know, busking is a term used for street perfomance, where you hold out the hat (or bottle) and all.  We just left an empty violin case out, and people threw money in.  It was a fundraiser for her orchestra fees, so we may be able to obtain permission for next week.

I've been listening to a really beautiful song on a nickel creek album called "The hand song."  It makes me think about how harsh I am sometimes, and I'm really going to try to do better at being nice to people, especially my brothers and sisters.  (that could be a new years resolution!)  Its not that anyone is harsh in the song, just the opposite.  If some little kid came in and had killed my rose bush to get me a bouquet of flowers, I would probably yell at them for killing my plant, instead of noticing that they had thorns in their hands.  I want to be one of those kind, lovely people, like my aunt Judy was, but do I have major habits to break.

Becky is standing next to me and overdramitizing teeth chattering sound effects - she just got a bath or something....guess thats it..
